Fiberglass screens are recommended for use in our screening systems. The MeshGuard system requires a specialized polyester screen for infill applications. Aluminum screens are not compatible with Fast Track or Mini Track systems.
For most of our screening systems, we recommend using a .175-inch spline for fiberglass screens and a .160-inch spline for aluminum screens.
All of our systems keep screens secure and tight for standard porch openings. For larger openings—over 60 feet without a post—the screen may be slightly looser, but the system will still perform effectively. Our Screen Wall system is designed to handle the largest openings while maintaining the tightest screen tension.
Standard lengths are 8 feet. Some systems offer longer or custom lengths available by special order. Please contact a dealer for special order requests.
Caps for the original Screen Tight system and MeshGuard are available in White, Grey, Beige, and Brown. The aluminum track products come in White and Powder-Coated Bronze, which is nearly black. Screen Block and Screen Wall are available exclusively in White.
While the components of our screening systems can technically be painted, we do not recommend it. For a low-maintenance screen porch, we suggest choosing from our available stock colors.
For installing any of our screening systems, you’ll need a drill or power screwdriver to secure the base, snips or shears to trim the base and cap, a standard utility knife to cut the screen, and a screening tool like our RollerKnife for screen installation.
For the original Screen Tight system, a non-marking rubber mallet is also required to snap on the cap. For framing systems and aluminum tracks, a chop saw is recommended for cutting to size.
All of our systems are designed for easy repairs and maintenance. You can easily replace or re-screen as needed. Most of our systems use a spline screening method, commonly used by window manufacturers across the country. Re-screening is simple—just roll the screen back into place using spline and a screen roller.
No, everything is straight-cut—no miter cuts required.
